
Dr Gladys Boo
Dr Gladys Boo graduated from Murdoch University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Following graduation, Dr Boo worked in general practice in Singapore before completing a postgraduate course in veterinary ophthalmology in 2013 and an ophthalmology internship at the Eye Clinic for Animals in Sydney in 2014. She completed her ophthalmology residency under Drs Jeffrey Smith, Cameron Whittaker, and Kelly Caruso between 2015 and 2018, achieving diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2020. Her clinical interests centre on corneal transplantation surgery, cataract surgery, and exotic animal ophthalmology. During her residency, she pioneered Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty in dogs and developed the Boo-K9 AAC, a canine-adapted artificial anterior chamber. Dr Boo holds membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and has contributed to the training of the next generation of veterinary ophthalmologists.
