Dr Song I-Lynn graduated from the University of Melbourne. Dr Song has practised small animal medicine and surgery in Singapore since graduating, developing a strong interest in exotic animal medicine through internships at Cornell University, Tai Wai Exotic Hospital in Hong Kong, and in South Africa, where she worked with pocket pets, reptiles, and wildlife. Her surgical practice encompasses non-routine soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. She is a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund, and completed hands-on training in reptile medicine, anaesthesia, and surgery at the University of Brno in 2014.
